Osasuna are in the running to sign Real Valladolid defender Enzo Boyomo to bolster their defence before the summer window closes.
Spanish outlet Relevo reported on Monday that Osasuna are in the market for Real Valladolid’s 22-year-old Cameroonian centre-back Enzo Boyomo to replace David Garcia this week.
David Garcia has officially bid farewell to the Rojiillo fans at the El Sadar stadium ahead of Saturday’s game against Mallorca after deciding to join the Qatari side for a fee believed to be in the region of €8.75m, with Osasuna initially eyeing Alaves centre-back Abdel Abkar as a replacement.
According to the latest reports, Osasuna are pushing ahead with the signing of 22-year-old defender Boyomo, while only waiting for the green light from his club Real Valladolid.
If Boyomo moves to El Sadar this week, Real Valladolid will complete a loan deal for Turkish defender Cenk Ozkakar from Valencia, Promotion Ufabet which would leave the club with enough salary cap space to sign Levante midfielder Pablo Martinez in addition.
Valencia, meanwhile, will save €1.4m on Oscacar’s wage bill and will instead sign 24-year-old Paraguayan defender Alexis Duarte from Spartak Moscow.
It will be no easy feat for Osasuna to replace Garcia, but Vicente Moreno will certainly be looking to improve defensively from last season. Boyomo certainly looks like a smart investment, given his age and trajectory. Boyomo came through the system at Blackburn in England, before joining Albacete on a free as an 18-year-old. After three seasons as a regular there, he was a key part of Valladolid’s promotion push last season.
